The Ambassador
Amb. Lado Chanturia
Amb. Lado Chanturia was appointed as the Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany on February 19th 2014. Amb. Chanturia studied law at the Tbilisi State University, he received his doctorate in 1989 at the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law in Moscow and habilitated in 1994.
Amb. Chanturia began working as a professor at the Tbilisi State University and has since April 2011, worked as a visiting professor at the Institute of East European Law of Christian-Albrechts-University at Kiel. His career includes scientific work, but also he has had longstanding positions in politics and justice. From 1998 to 1999 he was Minister of Justice of Georgia, then to 2004, President of the Supreme Court of Georgia.
