The Ambassador
Amb. José Antonio Meier Espinoza
Amb. José Antonio Meier finished the first part of his studies in the Diplomatic Academy of Peru in 1973. He then received a diploma, in the same academy, in the field of International Relations in 1978. Later on, between 1984 and 1988, he studied Political Science at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany.
Amb. José Antonio Meier started his long and rich diplomatic service in 1974. He has been ambassador of the Republic of Peru in several countries: in South Africa (1998-2002), in Chile (2002-2006), in Columbia (2006-2012). And since 2012, he has been the Ambassador of Peru to Gemany. In addition to his activities abroad, José Antonio Meier occupied several high-responsibility positions at home, including Head of the Diplomatic Academy of Peru (2008-2010), Director General for Europe in the Peruvian Foreign Ministry (2010-2011) and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (2011-2012). He also represented Peru in many international conferences.
