Amb. María Lorena Gutiérrez Botero
Amb. María Lorena Gutiérrez Botero, born on 1 September 1968 in Bogota, is a Colombian politician. She has served as Minister of Mines and Energy and Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism during the presidency of Juan Manuel Santos. She is an industrial engineer and specialist in finance at the Universidad de los Andes. She obtained a Masters in Administration from the Freeman School of Business, at the University of Tulane (United States) and in the latter, a Ph.D. in administration with an emphasis in finance.
She was dean of the Faculty of Administration of the University of the Andes, professor of the area of finances, director of the undergraduate in administration and general secretary of the faculty.He has been a member of the Board of Directors of EFMD, member of the International Advisory Council of Durham University, President of the Ibero-American Sumaq Alliance, member of the Board of Directors of CLADEA and of BALAS (Business Association for Latin American Studies). At the beginning of the government of President Santos, María Lorena Gutiérrez was High Presidential Adviser for Good Government and later Secretary General of the Presidency.
Today she is the ambassador of Colombia in Germany.
