Amb. Ali Majedi

Amb. Ali Majedi received his BA in Economics from Shahid Beheshti University and since 1981 he has been serving at different government posts. Amb. Ali Majedi is a leading Iranian expert on the international oil and gas trade and former Deputy Oil Minister in charge of International Affairs (2013-2014).

In this capacity, he was entrusted with the mission to vitalize the country’s energy diplomacy and restart talks with the world’s major oil and gas companies to persuade them to take part in Iranian oil industry projects.

Since 1989, in his capacity as diplomat, he has been posted as chargé d’affaires and ambassador to the UAE (1989-1991), Brazil (1992-1995) and Japan (1999-2004) and was also the Director General of the Commonwealth of Independent States (1995-1997). One of his major aims as Ambassador to Germany is to foster economic cooperation between the two countries, especially in the gas supply field.
