Amb. Rui Domingos Batica is the current Ambassador of Guinea Bissau to Germany.

Since Guinea-Bissau became an independent country in 1975 it has maintained diplomatic relations with the Federal Republic of Germany.

Normal political relations were established in July 2014. Together with the European Union institutions, international organisations and bilateral partners, Germany supports the efforts made by Guinea-Bissauan's government to stabilise the country and their attempts to implement economic reforms.

At an economic level, there are two big German companies in the process of engaging in infrastructure projects there.
