On September 20, 2024, the Embassy of Mexico in Berlin will host the inauguration of the exhibition "Zwischen Spiegeln" by artist Edgardo Navarro. Scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., this event will provide attendees with a unique opportunity to explore the intricate connections between the human mind and optics through Navarro’s thought-provoking works.

Navarro’s art delves into the concept of "mise en abyme," a phenomenon where two opposing mirrors create an infinite, ungraspable geometry. This visual effect serves as a metaphor for the boundless complexities of the human psyche. Through his work, Navarro invites viewers to contemplate time and space in a manner inspired by Henri Bergson’s idea that "intellectualized time is space." His art captures time within space, urging us to pause and engage in prolonged contemplation.

The exhibition promises to transport visitors into a carefully crafted space-time continuum, where landscapes and alcoves extend into one another, and the figures inhabiting these spaces appear both absent and present across multiple dimensions. Navarro’s work encourages viewers to suspend themselves in time, marvelling at the strange yet familiar worlds he meticulously creates.

Those interested in attending this cultural event can register by contacting kimale@sre.gob.mx.
