Collaboration in minery industry between Germany and Chile

The Chilean Embassy and Government members make a diplomatic and commercial visit to Germany with the aim of building a strong bilateral relation through collaboration and cooperation.

On 27th of June, in Berlin, the delegation met with the secretary of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany, Oliver Wittke. The objective of the meeting, happened in Berlin, was to invite German companies to participate in the process of selecting lithium producers.

The Chilean Minister of Minery with Ambassador Cecilia Mackenna, the Vice President of ENAMI, Robert Mayne-Nicholls and the general manager of CAMCHAL (Chilean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry), Cornelia Sonnenberg. They were visiting the largest copper smelter in Europe - the AURUBIS company in Hamburg. The plant generates a “circular economy”, focusing on sustainability and having concerns about the environment, and supplies the heating system of a neighborhood of that port city with thermal heat.

As part of the tour, Baldo Prokurica and his delegation also visited the engineering and technology company, DMT, in the city of Düsseldorf, which offers innovation for mining, mainly on priority issues for the Government such as tailings management and closure of works.
