The Brazilian Embassy will host a panel where Brazilian contemporary artists get together and discuss nature and architecture in the work of Lina Bo Bardi.

The Italian-born Lina Bo Bardi is one of the most recognizable Brazilian architects due to her impact on modern Brazilian architecture.

Bo Bardi spent most of her life in the country promoting the social and cultural potential of architecture and design, despite the hardship of being a foreigner and a woman in a male-dominated field.

Under the patronage of the Brazilian embassy, the Tchoban Foundation hosts the exhibition “The Poetry of Concrete” (01.06.-22.09.) in Berlin which displays some of the works of Bo Bardi.

For the occasion, on the 8th of July the Brazilian embassy will host a discussion panel where four Brazilian artists will talk about nature and architecture in Bo Bardi’s pieces.

The panelists include:

  • Renato Anelli, an architect, curator of the International São Paulo Architecture Biennale 2025, deputy chairman of the Bardi Institute / Casa de Vidro, cultural director of the Institute of Architects of Brazil - São Paulo branch and professor at Mackenzie University.
  • Veronika Kellndorfer, an artist. For the first time, her photographic studies of Lina Bo Bardi's buildings are on display in the form of wallpaper photographs in the exhibition Lina Bo Bardi - The Poetry of Concrete.
  • Sergei Tchoban is an architect, artist and collector who works in various cities in Europe. He is the managing director of the architectural firm TCHOBAN VOSS Architekten and founder of the Tchoban Foundation, which has been based in the Museum of Architectural Drawing in Berlin since 2013. He was awarded the European Architecture Prize in 2018.
  • Tereza de Arruda is an art historian and curator of, among others, the exhibition Lina Bo Bardi – The Poetry of Concrete, which can be seen at the Tchoban Foundation until September 22, 2024.
