News from Berlin –The Haus der Kulturen der Welt is a place for international contemporary arts and a forum for current developments in the art world. Part of the activities of this unique interdisciplinary programme is presenting artistic productions from around the world, with a focus on non-European cultures. On July 25, the venue will host a concert of the Projeto Coisa Fina.

The 13-member Projeto Coisa Fina, founded by the saxophonist Daniel Nogueira, plans to bring back and pay a tribute to the music of the composer and multi-instrumentalist Moacir Santos, one of Brazil’s most important musicians, who died in 2006 at the age of 80. The instrumental band from Sao Paolo represents a blend of rhythms such as baião, Maracatu, Samba and Jazz. On the occasion, the audiences will be able to discover the music of Moacir Santos, an essential figure in Brazilian music history and, as the band has now expanded its programme, the music of Sergio Ricardo, Chico Buarque and Marcos Valle.
