Zollpackhof Celebrates “Argentine Night” in Berlin
An evening of culture, tango and Argentine spirit at Berlin’s riverside beer garden
September 19th, 2025Zollpackhof, one of Berlin’s most picturesque beer gardens on the banks of the River Spree, hosted its annual “Argentine Night.” The event brought together members of the diplomatic community, German and Argentine business representatives, journalists and friends of Argentina to celebrate the country’s culture, cuisine, music and tango. The new Argentine Ambassador, Betina Alejandra Pasquali, and host Benjamin Groenewold welcomed guests under Berlin’s oldest chestnut tree, although heavy rain required an improvisation, moving the celebration into an indoor hall.
Ambassador Pasquali, who assumed her post in August after previously serving as head of the Argentine mission in Norway, thanked the beer garden’s owner, Groenewold, a longtime admirer and supporter of Argentine culture, for his commitment. She emphasized that Argentina is not only the land of tango and football but also a country with significant economic potential and an attractive destination for German tourists.
The event featured traditional Argentine food, wine and live performances of tango, creating an atmosphere that reflected the warmth and vibrancy of Argentine culture. Guests included officials from the German Federal Chancellery, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Bundestag, including its President, Ms. Julia Klöckner. The evening underscored the growing cultural and economic ties between Argentina and Germany, while celebrating the richness of Argentina’s traditions.
By hosting “Argentine Night,” the Argentine Embassy reaffirms their commitment to cultural exchange, promoting Argentine heritage in Berlin and fostering connections between the two nations.
