The Ambassador of Yemen to Germany, Louay Al-Eryani, recently met in Berlin with Dr. Michael Harms, Deputy Secretary General of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and Kai Franke, Director of the DAAD Berlin Office, to discuss ways to strengthen academic cooperation and increase the number of scholarships available to Yemeni students.

During the meeting, Ambassador Al-Eryani praised the DAAD's key role in supporting higher education worldwide, especially in developing and emerging countries, and commended the organisation's ongoing efforts to support Yemeni students and researchers and expand their academic opportunities. Dr. Harms confirmed the DAAD's willingness to expand its scholarship programmes for Yemeni nationals, provided that applicants meet the established requirements and submit their applications through the DAAD's official website, where all available programmes are published.

Both parties agreed to maintain continuous communication and strengthen bilateral cooperation on future academic initiatives. Also present at the meeting were the Deputy Cultural Counsellor of the Embassy, Abdul Bari Muawadah, and the Academic Affairs Specialist in the Office of the Cultural Attaché, Fahmi Al-Hamdan, according to a statement from the Embassy of Yemen in Germany.
