“XXX|||\”: A Visionary Hybrid Dance Premiere in Berlin
Exploring metamorphosis and ecological collapse through art and movement

The Czech artist collective Simulakrum presents the Berlin premiere of its ground-breaking hybrid dance performance, XXX|||\, on January 9, 10, and 11, 2025, at Uferstudios Berlin. Led by founders and artistic directors Claude Johann Čierny and Eduard Adam Orszulik, Simulakrum blends contemporary art with science, focusing on current societal and ecological issues. This unique performance combines dance, sculpture, film, and music to create a multimedia exploration of pressing global themes.
At the heart of XXX|||\ is a profound exploration of metamorphosis against the backdrop of ecological collapse. The performance challenges entrenched anthropocentric ideologies, envisioning a post-human era where symbiotic coexistence thrives. Through innovative choreography and organic sculpture-like costumes, the production creates an interactive, imaginary landscape that transcends nihilism, offering a hopeful narrative for a sustainable future.
Supported by institutions such as the Czech-German Fund for the Future and the European Union’s NextGenerationEU initiative, the project reflects Simulakrum’s mission to bridge Prague, Berlin, and the broader European cultural sphere. The performance is a testament to the power of art to confront critical issues, connecting emerging and established artists in a shared vision of change.
