On 19 June 2024, the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa in Berlin co-hosted a wine tasting with uniWines, a Fairtrade producer and supporter of exceptional wines which boasts of more than 50 years of winemaking and production in South Africa.

Ambassador Stone Sizani welcomed guests from the German diplomatic, economic and political sphere as well as the tourism and hospitality industry, to sample some outstanding South African wines.

Mr. Christopf Puff of uniWines presented four selected wines by DaschBosch, an accredited fairtrade wine partner in Rawsonwille in the Breedekloof Wine Valley.  DaschBosch strives to uphold the craftsmanship of traditional wine making by producing elegant wines for the modern and discerning palate.

South Africa is the largest producer of fairtrade wine worldwide, with 24 producer organisations, and accounts for around two- thirds of Fairtrade wine sales.

During the event, guests took the time to exchange opinions and experiences and tasted some delicious South African finger food.
