On June 21, 2024, Vice Premier Mihai Popșoi represented Moldova at the Danube Region Foreign Ministers' Meeting held in Vienna, where discussions were deeply rooted in the challenges and opportunities for regional cooperation. The meeting's primary focus was on critical issues related to the security and stability of the Danube region, particularly in the context of increasing hybrid threats and destabilizing influences from the Russian Federation.

The meeting culminated in the adoption of a significant joint declaration. This declaration underscored the collective commitment to strengthening regional security and stability. It also highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts to counteract the growing threats and maintain peace within the Danube region.

The meeting also took a moment to acknowledge and congratulate Bosnia and Herzegovina on its upcoming presidency of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR) in 2025. This recognition marks a significant step forward for regional cooperation, instilling a sense of optimism about the future of the Danube region.
