Slovak Embassy offers a piece of Slovakia in their list of upcoming cultural events
February 05th, 2019The Embassy of the Republic of Slovakia has published their list of cultural events and participation plans for February 2019.
In their calendar for February 2019, the Slovak Institute in Berlin along with the Slovak embassy show off their cultural plans for the following month. On the 15th of February there is a concert in the Embassy (Hildebrandstraße 25, 10785 Berlin – Mitte) celebrating the 100th year anniversary of the Bratislava Conservatory – the center of musical education in Slovakia. One of its most well-known students, Slávka Zámenčníková, a soloist soprano at the Berliner Staatsoper, will be preforming with other students and teachers from the Conservatory.
For this year’s Berlin International Film Festival Berlinale (17.-27.02.2019), the Slovakian Embassy and cultural institute will be supporting Slovakia in the competition within the ‘Central European Cinema’ section with the short film “Šarkan” from the Slovak director Martin Smatana.
Until February 22nd it will still be possible to view a one-of-a-kind glass art exhibition in the Slovak Embassy in Berlin. This special exhibition has historical and personal ties to the people of the Slovak Republic and is being used to celebrate 100 years of Slovak diplomacy in Germany. Glass production has long been a central industry in the economy of the region and in the hearts of the Slovak people. This exhibition takes special care in showing off Slovak works throughout various time periods and in an array different styles. The exhibition is available for viewing at the Slovak Embassy (Hildebrandstraße 25, 10785 Berlin – Mitte)
