UK–Germany Automotive Tech Collaboration Showcased in Friedrichshafen
Nine UK companies join cross-border mobility and technology exchange

A UK–Germany automotive technology exchange programme brought together industry partners in Berlin’s wider innovation ecosystem and at the Global Headquarters of ZF Friedrichshafen, where nine UK companies presented their technologies and engaged in discussions with ZF teams.
The initiative followed an earlier session at ZF’s UK site in Shirley and continued in Germany with a structured format designed to strengthen collaboration between mobility, software, and advanced engineering sectors. While the second phase took place in Friedrichshafen, the programme is linked to UK–Germany innovation cooperation networks with strong connections to Berlin-based industry and research environments.
Participating UK companies included Automotive Smart Grid, Crypta Labs, HYPERMOTIVE, InstaDeep, Monolith AI, NCC Group, Positka, PQShield, and Secure Elements, each presenting technologies spanning automotive software, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and digital infrastructure.
The Friedrichshafen sessions featured company pitch formats, reverse pitches, and Q&A discussions hosted by ZF, alongside contributions from Airbus Defence and Space, Rolls-Royce Power Systems, and Sauerstoffwerk Friedrichshafen (SWF). The programme also included targeted B2B meetings and networking sessions aimed at identifying potential industrial partnerships.
Organisers highlighted the importance of structured innovation formats in connecting UK technology companies with German industrial partners. The exchange is part of broader efforts to strengthen applied collaboration across mobility, digital systems, and manufacturing innovation.
The programme reflects Berlin’s growing role as a coordination and innovation hub within European technology cooperation networks, particularly in areas such as mobility transformation, AI applications, and industrial cybersecurity, even where implementation partners are located across Germany.
