On April 29, 2024, the Peruvian Embassy in Germany sponsored a cultural event featuring the talented Peruvian artist Luz María Carriquiry, who continued her concert tour with the show “The Soul of Peru - The New Peruvian Folklore & Chanson.” This event highlighted the rich musical heritage of Peru, with a particular focus on the works of renowned singer-songwriter Chabuca Granda.

Luz María Carriquiry’s tour has included performances in Spain, Belgium, and Germany. Returning to Berlin for the second time, she captivated the audience with a recital featuring her own compositions and pieces by prominent Latin American artists, notably Chabuca Granda.

In addition to the musical performances, attendees enjoyed poems by Carriquiry, compiled in her album “Florecer.” This added a poetic dimension to the concert, enriching the cultural experience for the audience.

The concert also featured acclaimed Peruvian guitarist Ernesto Hermoza and national percussionist Laura Robles, who accompanied Carriquiry in a diverse repertoire of Afro-Peruvian, flamenco, and traditional Peruvian folk music.

Following the successful concert in Berlin, Luz María Carriquiry is set to bring her unique show to the cities of Copenhagen, Malmö, and Stockholm, continuing to share the vibrant soul of Peruvian music with audiences across Europe.
