Fostering Unity and Development: the Organization HCTE Meets Togolese Diaspora in Berlin

The High Council of Togolese Abroad (HCTE) organized a meeting in Berlin on March 18, 2023, to foster a closer relationship between the delegates and the Togolese diaspora in Germany. The meeting aimed to unite the diaspora around the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, regional integration, and Togolese abroad to make it a real lever for the development of Togo. The delegates presented reports and a roadmap for the 2019-2022 and 2023-2025 periods, with the theme "HCTE, a lever for the consolidation and federation of small groups of the Togolese diaspora." The meeting was sponsored by a Diaspora goodwill living in Berlin, and the Chargé d'Affaires a.i. received the former and new delegates at the embassy to formalize the handover before the meeting.
On Saturday, March 18, 2023, the High Council of Togolese Abroad (HCTE) delegates held an exchange meeting with the Togolese diaspora in Berlin, as part of their roadmap. The objective of the meeting was to establish a close link between the delegates and the diaspora, federating energies, especially those of the Togolese community associations in Germany, around the HCTE.
The Embassy of Togo was represented by Mr. Tchilabalo ABAKI, Chargé d'Affaires a.i., and embassy staff. In his welcome speech, Mr. ABAKI expressed gratitude to the organizers and invited participants to unite around the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, regional integration, and Togolese abroad. The goal was to cultivate cohesion within the diaspora and make it a real lever for the development of Togo.
During the meeting, Mr. Tamakloe Festus, former delegate, presented a report on activities carried out during the 2019-2022 mandate. Mr. FOFANA Soultane, one of the new delegates, introduced himself and outlined the main lines of the roadmap for the 2023-2025 period.
The delegates then made a presentation on the theme "HCTE, a lever for the consolidation and federation of small groups of the Togolese diaspora," and encouraged associations to work together.
The diaspora expressed gratitude to Mr. AKAKPO Anani, a Diaspora goodwill living in Berlin, who sponsored the meeting. Before the meeting, the Chargé d'Affaires a.i. received the former and new delegates at the embassy to formalize the handover.
