During the Berlin leg of the European tour of the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC, conducted by Maestro Gianandrea Noseda, the Orchestra also performed at the headquarters of the Italian Embassy in Germany.

The trio, consisting of Daniel Foster (first viola of the NSO), Loewi Lin (cello) and Jing Qiao (violin), offered a premiere of the tour repertoire, performing music by Luigi Boccherini and Ludwig van Beethoven.

In his speech, Ambassador Armando Varricchio recalled “the tireless commitment of Maestro Noseda in spreading Italian culture around the world”, in recognition of which, in 2018, he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic in the rank of Commendatore. “Maestro Noseda, now in his seventh season as music director of the National Symphony Orchestra, has led the Orchestra to considerable international success. It, therefore, gives me particularly pleased that this tour, which also marks the Maestro’s return to La Scala, touches down in five German cities, said the Ambassador.
