The Most Relevant Multi-Cultural Event in Canberra

The festival brings together different communities and Embassies in Canberra, providing a sustainable international platform where Australia’s diversity is celebrated. This year more than 200000 people participated with more than 80 countries. The Thai Ambassador to Australia, Nantana Sivakua, participated at the opening ceremony of “ASEAN Village” together with Heads of ASEAN Missions in Canberra.

The National Multicultural Festival in Canberra was held on February 2019 and is an annual event, that has been taking place for more than 20 years.  The #NMF2019 is nowadays one of the major world cultural events which brings together thousands of locals, domestic and international visitors, creating an intercultural platform where Australia’s cultural diversity is showcased. A unique festivity for building up social inclusion.

The program of the event is characterized by a mix of intercultural activities which include music, concerts, dance from folkloric origins, the glitz of modern cabaret styles, contemporary tribal, gypsy and fusion styles. Due to its intercultural character the festival is also called by many as: “the hub of multicultural entertainment.” It represents a chance for a positive integration of cultural and tourism activities.

The festival brings together performances and participants from across the world, and 2019 represented a qualified occasion for create a unique cross-cultural experience. A unique event where by using art and culture we experience the promotion of building up intercultural relationships and the fostering of social inclusion feelings. Through the showcase of a diverse range of activities and cultural display, the event promotes intercultural bridges fostering the encounter, interaction and integration of diverse cultures.
