After ten years, the 29th Hance Sail welcomes again around 200 traditional sailing ships coming from 15 nations, and also steam- and museum ships at the quays of Rostock and Warnemünde. Between the 8th and the 11th of August 2019, traditional sailing vessels and museum ships from all around the world will follow the invitation of the Hanseatic and University City of Rostock to come to the Baltic metropolis on the second weekend in August.

The importance of such event focuses itself on the chance given to all the participating ships to tell the traditional naval history and represent their own nation. It is a great moment to share those maritime traditions live and in color that thousands of visitors from Europe and overseas are looking forward to seeing. Likewise, the Mexican School Ship “Cuauhtémoc” for its Instruction Cruise "Northern Europe 2019” returns to Rostock for the third time after 1996 and 2007.

On 8th August, the Mexican Ambassador Rogelio Granguillhome Morfin together with the mayor Mr. Roland Methling and former federal president Joachim Gauck.received the Mexican School Ship by wishing a good luck to the Captain and the crew. Hence, a cultural exchange that rides the wave of cultural diplomacy.

Good luck!
