EU Foreign Ministers discuss Venezuela, Syria and China

The political crisis in Venezuela, the situation in Syria and the EU's relations with China are the topics on the agenda of the Gymnich meeting, an informal meeting of Foreign Affairs Ministers, which takes place on Thursday and Friday in Bucharest. The EU foreign policy commissioner, Federico Mogherini, will also be invited to the meeting.

The agenda of the meeting will include a lunch and four working sessions, during which ministers will address informal topics such as the Eastern Partnership, Venezuela, Syria and the EU-China relationship in an informal manner. The meeting will kick off with a working lunch, during which ministers will have an exchange of views on the 10th anniversary of the launch of the Eastern Partnership (PaE).

During the first working session, ministers will discuss the political crisis in Venezuela. Recent developments in the Syrian file will be the topic of discussion for Ministers for the second working session. During the third working session, ministers will reflect on the state and perspectives of the EU's relationship with China. They were invited to participate in the fourth working session of the Gymnich meeting and the foreign ministers of the candidate countries for EU membership, which will address their country's relations with China.
