The Fahrradmesse VELOBerlin – The Unique Bicycle Trade Fair in Berlin
“Everything to Discover, Test and Buy”
April 09th, 2016The Fahrradmesse VELOBerlin - the Bicycle trade fair VELOBerlin - is opened its door to the public for the sixth consecutive year during the weekend of the 16th and 17th April 2016 in the Messe Berlin. The exhibition presented the newest themes and trends in the bicycle world, the future of environmentally friendly mobility and the bike tours around the capital. The main aim of the fair is to develop the “Velo Concept” in one of the most important places in the German market, attracting to the exhibition expert cyclists, as well as bike lovers and families with children.
There were about 300 expositors with their stands, presenting their innovations in the bicycle sector. The motto is “Everything to discover, test and buy”. At the trade fair visitors found all types of bicycles, from fashion urban to electric bicycles, to mountain bikes, to special bikes for tours, travels and triathlon and also for children. Moreover there was a huge offer of cycling accessories, clothing, helmets, gloves and backpacks. All the equipment can be tested before deciding on a purchase and an extensive program of open-air tests will guarantee a unique driving pleasure.
During the weekend a professional, entertaining, informative and amazing program is taking place. Workshops will be held throughout the two days in the exhibition area and they can easily be visited without any appointment. The themes E-bike, ergonomics and Smart Cycling were also included: experts provided an overview and are available for questions during these short courses or by their stands. As regards technical workshops, they were not just for mountain bikers. During the one organized by the MTB Academy Erzgebirge and Marco Hösel, not only the expert cyclists, but also the “urban” cyclists can learn the necessary skills for the small everyday challenges. Furthermore, for those who want to learn some tricks of bike riding, there is an artistic cycling show during the interactive workshop by Ines Brunn.
Special exhibitions dealing with navigation, e-bikes and Smart Cycling are taking place in Hall 17, secure bicycle parking at VELO Park & Ride in Hall 14, and one can find renewable, environmentally sustainable components and bicycles at VELO Wood - Nature at the wheel in Hall 13. The little ones (younger than 6 years old) are offered in Hall 15 a Mini course as well. For older children there is an open-air children course. Both courses are organized by the Children's Traffic School Neukölln.
