The Euro African Youth Parliament Conference in Berlin Is the First of Its Kind

Euro African Youth Parliament Conference in Berlin from March 27th until April 4th

News from Berlin - 107 youths from 51 countries have gathered in Berlin for the First Euro Africa Youth Parliament Conference. This special event is organized by the Office of the European Youth Parliament and the Youth Bridge Foundation, a youth organization with its headquarters in Accra, Ghana. The event is funded by the German Foreign Ministry.

Guest speakers will discuss a wide range of topics, including issues in the realm of industry, energy and the environment to constitutional affairs, food safety and human rights.  

The director of the European Youth Parliament (EYP), Seth Oteng, launched the ceremony by stating that two of the set objectives of the conference are to promote youth participation in government issues whilst also fostering intercultural exchanges between the two continents.

The German ambassador to Ghana, Mr John Ruediger, claims that the conference is a unique opportunity to share ideas and knowledge and to discuss issues regarding youth policy on the two continents which will have to faced in the coming years. He insisted that the African and European youth had to work together to tackle these challenges.
