The Ambassador
Amb. Dora Kutesa
Dora Kutesa is a Ugandan diplomat currently serving as Chargé d'Affaires a.i. at Uganda's diplomatic mission in Vienna. The current Austrian diplomatic list records her in this capacity rather than as Ambassador. Her earlier multilateral service included work as Minister Counsellor at Uganda's Permanent Delegation to UNESCO in Paris, giving her experience in cultural and international-organisation diplomacy.
History
Austria and Uganda established diplomatic relations in the early 1980s and developed a substantial development-cooperation partnership in the following decade. Uganda became a priority country for Austrian Development Cooperation in 1992, with programmes covering areas such as water and sanitation, governance, education and economic development. Bilateral relations also include political dialogue, trade, culture and multilateral cooperation, supported by honorary consular representation.
