The Ambassador
Amb. Edith Antoinette Itoua
H.E. Edith Antoinette Itoua is a Congolese diplomat and senior public official serving as Ambassador of the Republic of the Congo based in Berlin, with accreditation to Austria. She studied philology and Russian in Saint Petersburg and later pursued additional studies in foreign languages, civilisation and diplomacy.
Her professional career includes service in the Congolese presidential administration, where she worked on issues concerning social protection, professional organisations and social dialogue. She previously served as an adviser on matters concerning Congolese citizens abroad and spent many years at the Embassy of the Republic of the Congo in Paris.
History
Austria and the Republic of the Congo maintain cordial but relatively limited bilateral relations. Contacts focus on political dialogue, business opportunities, development-related issues and multilateral cooperation. Austria has supported the expansion of Congolese diplomatic engagement in Vienna, where international organisations provide an important platform for cooperation on industrial development, energy, security and sustainable development.
