H.E. Mr. Paul Andrew Gomez is a highly distinguished Bahamian financial expert, corporate strategist, and senior diplomat. He formally assumed his duties at the High Commission in London following an extensive executive career in both the public and private financial sectors of The Bahamas. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) by profession, High Commissioner Gomez graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in Accounting. He went on to build a formidable corporate reputation, serving as a Managing Partner at Grant Thornton Bahamas for more than two decades, where he specialized in international taxation, auditing, and restructuring. His deep institutional knowledge led to his appointment as the Chairman of the Bahamas Trade Commission, a position where he masterfully steered national trade policy, international arbitration frameworks, and economic integration initiatives.
