The Ambassador
Amb. Maimouna Gazibo Kountche Mahamed
Maimouna Gazibo Kountche Mahamed is a Nigerien diplomat serving through Niger's Permanent Mission in Geneva, which is accredited to Austria. The current Austrian diplomatic list identifies her as Second Counsellor rather than Ambassador. She has also been listed in United Nations diplomatic records as a counsellor of Niger's mission. Official public sources do not provide sufficient verified information for a fuller personal biography.
History
Austria and Niger maintain diplomatic relations focused mainly on development, humanitarian concerns, regional security and multilateral cooperation. Austria's engagement with Niger forms part of its wider policy toward the Sahel and West Africa, including support for stability, sustainable development and regional organisations. Bilateral economic ties are limited, while diplomatic contacts are largely maintained through non-resident missions and international institutions.
