Amb. Brian Neil Joseph Glover
H.E. Mr. Brian Neil Joseph Glover is a highly distinguished legal powerhouse, institutional reformer, and senior diplomat from the Republic of Mauritius. A barrister-at-law by training with decades of experience within the Mauritian judicial system, he assumed his duties in Geneva bringing uncompromised expertise in public law, human rights, and industrial relations.
Before his ambassadorial appointment, Ambassador Glover occupied several of the most sensitive and high-profile statutory positions in Mauritius. Notably, he served as the Chairman of the Employment Relations Tribunal (ERT), where he was instrumental in reshaping national labor laws and mediating complex collective bargaining disputes. He also served as the head of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) and has been a prominent voice in judicial reviews. His deep-seated authority on labor standards, anti-corruption frameworks, and international law makes him an exceptionally respected and formidable negotiator within Geneva’s multilateral mechanisms.

The Permanent Mission in Geneva serves as Mauritius's primary anchor within the World Trade Organization (WTO), the International Labour Organization (ILO), the UN Human Rights Council, and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Historically, the mission has played a vital role in defending Mauritius's sovereignty claims over the Chagos Archipelago using international legal instruments. Under Ambassador Glover’s leadership, the mission leverages its strong legal DNA to advocate for fair global trade architectures for Small Island Developing States (SIDS), champion progressive international labor standards, and promote digital economy intellectual frameworks. Additionally, the mission works closely with Geneva-based health and environmental bodies to insulate Mauritius’s tourism- and textile-driven economy from global climate
