Amb. Ms. Anaïse Manuel
Anaïse Manuel is a Haitian career diplomat with more than three decades of experience in diplomacy, strategy and international development. Her work has included economic diplomacy and senior responsibilities within Haiti's foreign service. As Ambassador in London, she represents Haiti in bilateral relations with the United Kingdom and in international organisations based in the capital.
History
Bilateral ties between Haiti and the United Kingdom are historic and deeply significant; the UK was one of the very first European powers to officially recognize Haiti's independence in 1825, paving the way for the formal opening of Haiti’s first legation in London in 1884. Today, the embassy operates from Swedenborg House in Bloomsbury.
The Embassy of Haiti in London serves as a paramount command post for executing economic statecraft, humanitarian response synchronization, and international development diplomacy between Port-au-Prince and Whitehall. Under Ambassador Manuel’s specialized background in international finance and public outreach, the primary mandate of the mission centers on modernizing bilateral commercial channels and driving sustainable British capital investmentsinto Haiti’s regional infrastructure, agricultural cooperatives, and renewable energy frameworks. Geopolitically, the mission actively collaborates with the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and international security partners to steer structural support toward Haiti’s ongoing national stabilization, governance reinforcement, and transitional justice initiatives. Furthermore, the embassy hosts a highly active consular division—providing modernized passport processing, notarizations, and dual-citizenship registrations—while mobilizing close cultural statecraft to engage and support the growing Haitian professional, academic, and creative diaspora community thriving across the United Kingdom.
