The Ambassador
H.E. Ms. Rachér Croney

H.E. Ms. Rachér Croney is an exceptionally dynamic, modern trade specialist and senior diplomat who represents a new generation of leadership in Caribbean foreign policy. She took formal command of the West Kensington-based mission in late 2023. High Commissioner Croney holds a spectacular academic foundation from St. George’s University (SGU) in Grenada, graduating with honors with a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies before completing a Master of International Business Administration (MBA). Her professional trajectory blends communication management with high-stakes, cross-border political negotiation. She initially excelled as a communications specialist and served within SGU’s Office of University Communications.
Her career transitioned directly into frontline international relations when she joined the United States Embassy in Grenada. For nearly a decade, she served with distinction as the Senior Political and Economic Specialist to the US Chargé d'Affaires in the Eastern Caribbean. In this critical advisory capacity, she engineered regional risk-assessments, monitored trade flows, and provided the core intelligence grounding US foreign policy implementation across the region. Chosen by the government of Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell to steer Grenada’s primary European diplomatic footprint, her appointment places an elite economic strategist at the helm of the London mission.
History
Bilateral ties between Grenada and the United Kingdom are historic, deeply warm, and continuous, solidified by a shared parliamentary legacy and Commonwealth bond since Grenada achieved independence in 1974. The High Commission operates out of a unique, beautifully converted historic building known as The Chapel on Archel Road in West Kensington.
The High Commission in London serves as a central command post for executing eco-statecraft, investment attraction, and diaspora mobilization between St. George's and Whitehall. Under High Commissioner Croney’s strategic trade background, a primary focus of the mission is driving sustainable British capital and green technology transfers into the tri-island state (Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique), particularly targeting climate-resilient blue economy projects, municipal infrastructure, and eco-tourism.
The mission works continuously to expand premium agricultural trade, famously promoting Grenada's world-class cocoa, organic spices, and luxury tourism markets—historically punctuated by high-profile cultural milestones like Grenada’s repeated Gold Medal wins at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Furthermore, the High Commission maintains a highly efficient consular operation that provides critical citizenship, visa, and passport validation services to support the extensive and deeply patriotic Grenadian diaspora community thriving across the United Kingdom.
