History
Chad and the United Kingdom established diplomatic relations in 1960 following Chadian independence. For many years British engagement was limited and often managed regionally, but the United Kingdom subsequently established a resident embassy in N'Djamena. Current cooperation focuses on humanitarian assistance, regional stability, climate resilience, support for civilian governance and efforts against violent extremism in the Lake Chad Basin. Chad does not maintain a resident embassy in London, so representation for the United Kingdom is handled through non-resident diplomatic arrangements.
