History
Cabo Verde and the United Kingdom maintain diplomatic relations shaped by maritime links, tourism, trade and cooperation with Small Island Developing States. Cabo Verde's representation for the United Kingdom is handled on a non-resident basis from its embassy in Brussels, while British responsibilities for Cabo Verde are covered by the British Embassy in Lisbon. The relationship has increasingly included dialogue on ocean governance, climate resilience, renewable energy and tourism. Both countries also cooperate in wider multilateral settings and on practical consular matters affecting the growing movement of visitors and residents between the islands and the United Kingdom.
