Kunthea Sophie Trameger
Kunthea Sophie Trameger was born in 1974 in Pailin, Cambodia. Due to the dangerous situation in Cambodia under the Khmer Rouge, she and almost her whole family fled to Austria via Thailand in 1980.
Professionally, Kunthea Sophie helps run her husband's business. She organizes the back office of Trameger kg, a management consultancy, and is also the director of pm-growth International gmbh, an international sales company. Her work involves a lot of coordination and management, making sure everything runs smoothly.
She speaks three languages fluently—German, Khmer, and English. This skill helps her in her work, especially when dealing with international aspects of the business.
In her free time, Kunthea Sophie enjoys being outdoors with her family and friends, and she loves spending time by the sea. This is how she relaxes and recharges from her busy work life.
Married to Peter Trameger and mother of two children, Leon and Naomi.
History
Austria and Cambodia established diplomatic relations in 1958 and have maintained cordial relations based on political dialogue, development cooperation, and multilateral engagement. Although bilateral trade and high-level visits have remained relatively limited, Austria has supported Cambodia through the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), particularly in areas such as mine action, rural development, vocational training, and sustainable natural resource management. Austria also contributes to development initiatives in Cambodia through partnerships with international organizations and civil society.
Relations are further strengthened through cooperation within the European Union and the United Nations, where both countries collaborate on issues including sustainable development, climate action, and cultural heritage protection. Austria has also supported Cambodia through regional programmes in the Mekong region, while growing tourism, educational exchanges, and economic contacts continue to provide opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation.
