H.E. Mrs. Panha Tuot
H.E. Mrs. Panha Tuot is an elite senior career diplomat and one of the highest-ranking female policymakers within Cambodia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. She took direct control of the London mission after presenting her sovereign credentials to King Charles III at Buckingham Palace on February 29, 2024. Ambassador Tuot has spent decades navigating high-stakes administrative and regional portfolios in Phnom Penh. Before her flagship deployment to the United Kingdom, she served a highly influential tenure as Secretary of State (Deputy Minister) within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, directly shaping Cambodia's strategy on regional integration, political-security frameworks, and ASEAN-led multilateral architectures. Known for her analytical precision, deep understanding of international law, and collaborative leadership style, she represents a premier tier of Cambodian technocrats sent to Western capitals to strengthen independent trade, investment, and diplomatic diversification post-pandemic
History
Cambodia maintains a unique and highly accessible diplomatic presence in London, operating from its independent chancery located in Brondesbury Park. The embassy acts as Phnom Penh's premier node for managing political statecraft, commercial engagement, and heritage preservation across the British Isles.
The strategic mandate of the mission centers heavily on economic diplomacy, green development cooperation, and cultural restitution. Historically, the UK has been a major importer of Cambodian garments, footwear, and agricultural products through preferential trade programs. Under Ambassador Tuot's guidance, the embassy focuses extensively on driving the UK-Cambodia Joint Trade and Investment Forum, aiming to attract British capital into Cambodia's expanding digital infrastructure, renewable energy grids, and food processing industries. Furthermore, the mission works hand-in-hand with British law enforcement and cultural bodies—such as the Victoria and Albert Museum and the British Museum—to successfully coordinate the historic repatriation of smuggled Khmer antiquities back to their rightful home in Cambodia.
