Nelson Antonio Tabajara de Oliveira

Ambassador Nelson Antonio Tabajara de Oliveira has had a distinguished career in diplomacy since he entered the diplomatic service in 1983. His academic background includes studies in Philosophy, History, and Architecture, which have provided a broad foundation for his extensive work in international relations.

Ambassador Tabajara de Oliveira has held several prominent positions within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil. He served as the Under-Secretary-General for Multilateral Affairs, Europe, and North America at the Itamaraty, demonstrating his expertise in handling complex international issues. Additionally, he was the Director of the Department of Defense and Security Affairs and acted as the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

His international assignments include significant roles such as serving at the Permanent Mission of Brazil to the Organization of American States (OAS) in Washington, D.C., and at the Representation of Brazil to the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva. His diplomatic service has been further highlighted by his tenure as the Brazilian Ambassador to Sweden.

Since March 2022, Ambassador Tabajara de Oliveira has been serving as the Brazilian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna.
