The Ambassador
H.E. Mr. Bojan Vujić
H.E. Mr. Bojan Vujić has served as the Permanent Representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva since 2025, when he presented his credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva. Prior to his appointment, he served as Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United States from 2019.
Before entering the diplomatic service, Mr. Vujić had a distinguished career in professional tennis. From 2006 to 2019, he served as Head of the Professional Staff and President of Tennis Club "Borac" in Banja Luka. Earlier, from 2000 to 2005, he was Head Coach and First Player of the Rosbach Tennis Club in Rosbach, Germany. He graduated from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports at the University of Banja Luka, where he specialized as a tennis coach between 2005 and 2009.
History
Bosnia and Herzegovina became a member of the United Nations on 22 May 1992, shortly after the country's independence. Since joining the UN, it has actively participated in multilateral diplomacy, contributing to discussions on peacebuilding, human rights, sustainable development, humanitarian affairs, international law, and regional cooperation. Bosnia and Herzegovina has also served as an elected member of the United Nations Human Rights Council (2022–2024) and participates actively in the work of Geneva-based UN institutions.
The Permanent Mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva represents the country before the United Nations Office at Geneva and the numerous international organizations headquartered in the city. The Mission advances Bosnia and Herzegovina's interests in areas including human rights, humanitarian affairs, health, labour, migration, trade, disarmament, and sustainable development, while participating in multilateral negotiations and cooperation within the Geneva-based UN system.
