History
Austria and Benin maintain friendly relations focused mainly on development, economic contacts, culture and multilateral cooperation. Austria's diplomatic responsibility for Benin is handled through its Embassy in Accra, while an Austrian honorary representation in Cotonou supports consular and bilateral links. Cooperation has also developed through European and West African regional frameworks and through programmes in education, sustainable development and cultural exchange.
