H.E. Mariana Plaza
Mariana Edith Plaza is an Argentine career diplomat with a background in international relations and regional integration. Her diplomatic service has included work on MERCOSUR and ALADI affairs, a posting at the Argentine Embassy in Kenya, and senior assignments within the Foreign Ministry. She had served at the Argentine mission in London since 2019 before being appointed Ambassador to the United Kingdom in 2024.
History
The diplomatic relationship between Argentina and the United Kingdom is one of the oldest and most complex in South American history, marking two centuries since the historic 1825 Treaty of Friendship, Commerce, and Navigation.
