The Embassy of Egypt in Berlin has partnered with the Neues Museum to support the large-scale “Ancient Egypt” exhibition, offering one of the most comprehensive permanent displays of Pharaonic culture in Europe.

Opened in late May 2025, the exhibition presents more than 2,500 ancient Egyptian artifacts, including iconic objects such as the bust of Queen Nefertiti, temple reliefs, papyri, and burial treasures. The newly curated installation spans three levels of the museum and over 3,600 square meters, providing visitors with an immersive journey through thousands of years of Egyptian history.

This cultural initiative reflects the ongoing cooperation between the Egyptian Embassy and the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, strengthening ties in heritage preservation, public education, and international museum partnerships.

The exhibition emphasizes key aspects of ancient Egyptian life, from daily routines and craftsmanship to religious practices and funerary beliefs. Dedicated spaces allow for modern reconstructions of sacred architecture and interactive educational formats, including digital media and guided experiences.

In support of the exhibition, the Embassy has also helped promote public programs such as the “Follow the Scarab” workshops for children and families, connecting a younger generation in Berlin with the richness of Egyptian civilization.

This collaboration is part of a broader diplomatic mission to foster mutual understanding and cultural exchangebetween Egypt and Germany, as highlighted in recent public communications by the Egyptian Embassy in Berlin.

The Neues Museum is located on Museum Island and is open daily from 10:00 to 18:00. Entry is included in the Berlin Museum Island ticket.
