On August 16th, the Angolan Embassy in Berlin honored Maurício Francisco Caetano, an Angolan writer, by presenting his work titled “Os Bantu na Visão de Mafrano”.

This collection, spanning three volumes and over 700 pages, compiles texts that the author had left scattered across newspapers and magazines in Angola between 1947 and 1982. Notably, these include the newspaper “O Apostolado”, the magazine “Angola”, and the newspaper “O Angolense”.

During his lifetime, Maurício Caetano, also known as "Mafrano", was a professor and a finance expert in the service of the Portuguese State. After Angola's independence, he served as Director of the Ministry of Finance until his death in 1982.

In Angola, the author worked in various regions, including Uíge, Malanje, Cabinda, Cuanza-Sul, Dembos, Cuanza-Norte, and Luanda. He managed to balance his professional duties with his literary activities and research on the life, habits, and customs of the Bantu peoples.

To date, two volumes of the collection have been published, while the third volume is currently undergoing final revisions with the publishing house Perfil Criativo – Autores Club.
