TękkerAIRBerlins - Talented Danish Artists in Berlin
September 18th, 2014
News from Berlin – A new opening call for Danish artists, performers and writers willing to come to Berlin to express their talents amidst the graffiti-stained walls of Berlin. Applicants should apply before January the 5th, 2015.
The program, TækkerAIRBerlins, provides the chance for Danish artists to come and experiment with their art in the middle of Berlin.
All artists from the Danish region, Midtjylland, especially from Århus kommune, are provided with a place to stay in Kreuzberg in Berlin, through the program’s collaboration with Jørn Tækker, director of the project. The artists can choose to work on their own or find a partner in Berlin to mutually develop their work.
Applicants will have the opportunity to stay in Berlin for one or two months choosing from two different apartments in the creative district of Kreuzberg, both of which are located in Dieffenbachstrasse. Additionally, a work-studio will be provided to create a sensational working environment in Paul-Licke-Ufer Strasse.
Several different institutions – Aarhus Billedkunstcenter (Art gallery center), Aarhus Litteraturcenter (Literature Center) and Aarhus Scenekunstcenter (Performing Art Center) – will select the applicants based on the high artistic quality of the artist and their interest in the Danish and German cultural network.
Throughout the experience, artists must create their own artistic diary – written, painted, or collage – on a section of the wall which they will find in the apartment provided for them. At the end, participants will write ten sentences regarding their experience, including pictures illustrating the environment of their work place.
