The Ambassador of Japan to Germany, Yanagi Hidenao, delivered a greeting at the Berlin Japanese/German Researchers Networking Forum, held in the event hall of the embassy on August 21st.

The forum was organized as a joint event by the Berlin-Brandenburg Regional Group of the German Society of JSPS Fellows and the Berlin AOKUMAKAI, which brings together Japanese researchers from Berlin and the surrounding area.

In his speech, the ambassador reflected on the 50th anniversary of the Japanese-German Agreement on Cooperation in Scientific Research and Technological Development, the 30th anniversary of the sister city partnership between Tokyo and Berlin, and the 25th anniversary of the partnership between Saitama Prefecture and the state of Brandenburg, which is being celebrated this year.
