In February 2025, the Latvian Investment and Development Agency, in collaboration with the National Cinema Center, the Latvian Film Producers Association, and the Latvian Embassy in Germany hosted a special reception to celebrate the achievement of Latvian cinema. This event also highlighted Latvia’s participation in the European Film Market and the Berlinale Fortum, marking the country’s 17th consecutive year at the festival.

The event's main focus was on the animated movie “Flow”, which has made history by winning over 70 international awards, including Latvia’s first-ever Golden Globe. Attendees had the opportunity to meet director Gints Zilbalodies and producer Matis Kazas.

Currently, Latvian cinema is eagerly anticipating the upcoming Academy Awards in Los Angeles on March 2, where "Flow" is nominated in two major categories: Best Feature-Length Animated Film and Best International Feature Film. This recognition further cements Latvia’s growing influence in the international film industry..

This reception in Berlin not only served as a testament to Latvia’s thriving film sector, but also to foster connections within the global cinematic community and celebrating the country's remarkable achievements in filmmaking
