An official reception in Berlin marked the Republic of Kazakhstan’s National Day, gathering high-level German officials, Bundestag members, diplomats, business representatives, and experts to honor the occasion. Hosted by the Kazakh Ambassador to Germany, Nurlan Onzhanov, the event opened with the national anthems of Kazakhstan and Germany, setting the tone for an evening celebrating the strong ties between the two nations.

In his welcoming speech, Ambassador Onzhanov highlighted Kazakhstan’s focus on democratic reforms and social justice, referring to a recent referendum as an example of the country’s commitment to involving its citizens in significant decisions, including those on nuclear energy. He also praised the growing partnership between Kazakhstan and Germany, evidenced by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s recent visit, during which agreements worth over $6 billion were signed.

Representing Germany, Parliamentary State Secretary Michael Kellner echoed the Ambassador's sentiments, noting Kazakhstan’s importance as Germany’s key trading partner in Central Asia and an essential ally in energy and resource management. He emphasized the strategic potential of green hydrogen collaboration and Kazakhstan’s role in the Middle Corridor, a critical logistics route.

The evening culminated in an awe-inspiring performance by celebrated Kazakh opera singer Maria Mudryak, whose talent was widely admired by attendees, reinforcing the warm and friendly relations between Kazakhstan and Germany.
