In celebration of Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana’s birthday on June 3, 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy organized a significant volunteer activity at Haus Miriam, part of the Caritas Foundation. This initiative, which took place on June 21, was led by H.E. Mrs. Vilawan Mangklatanakul, the Thai Ambassador, along with embassy officials and the Team Thailand.

To honor Queen Suthida, the embassy made a generous donation to support Haus Miriam’s operations. The facility provides essential services and shelter to homeless women aged 18 to 70, who are experiencing various hardships both physically and psychologically. Haus Miriam offers these women a secure living environment, along with guidance to find suitable long-term housing, medical and physical care and employment opportunities, aiming to improve their living conditions.

The donation from the Royal Thai Embassy is anticipated to improve the support and services offered by Haus Miriam. The facility's administrators can now further their mission of offering comprehensive assistance to the women in their care. This encompasses immediate shelter and safety as well as long-term solutions to help these women reintegrate into society.

In addition to the donation, the embassy’s involvement underscores the importance of community support and international cooperation in addressing social issues. The partnership between the Royal Thai Embassy and Haus Miriam highlights a shared commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable populations. Moreover, Her Majesty Queen Suthida’s birthday provided a fitting occasion for this charitable act, reflecting her dedication to welfare and humanitarian efforts.

The Haus Miriam initiative is one example of how the Royal Thai Embassy engages with and supports the local community. By partnering with organizations like the Caritas Foundation, the embassy promotes volunteerism and community service, aligning with its broader goals of cultural exchange and mutual aid. Additionally, the embassy’s actions set an example of how diplomatic missions can play a pivotal role in social betterment initiatives, providing crucial support to those in need.

As we reflect on the success of this volunteer activity, it is evident that the combined efforts of the Royal Thai Embassy and Haus Miriam will continue to yield significant benefits for the homeless women they aim to support. This collaborative effort demonstrates the power of unity and compassion in making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
