Ritva Röminger-Czako Receives the Order of the Lion

News from Berlin - The Finnish Ambassador Päivi Luostarinen awarded the badge of the Order of the Lion of Finland to Ritva Röminger-Czako in Berlin on Friday, March 21st.  Röminger-Czako received a badge for the promotion of Finnish art in Germany.

An art historian and curator, Ritva Röminger-Czako has promoted Finnish visual arts in Germany since 1984. She has held a number of exhibitions containing Finnish artists numerous German museums and galleries. The Ambassador Luostarinen thanked Röminger-Czako for the good cooperation as Röminger-Czako recently curated the successful Finnish exhibition ‘Hunger nach Bildern – Finnische Malerei der Gegenwart’ (January 16th to March 7th, 2014 ).

For Röminger-Czakos, the most important exhibition projects have have been "Breaking the Ice" exhibition at Bonn Art Hall in 2006, the Finnish- Estonian- Russian exhibition in the Ludwig Museum in Aachen in 2008, and Pertti Kekarainens best exhibition in Berlin in 2009. Through her work, she spurred many Finnish artists to have an international career. In addition, Röminger-Czako is the author of many publications on Finnish art in Finnish and German settings.
