Research Award to Strengthen Polish - German Cooperationn

News from Berlin - The Polish Ambassador in Berlin will give out a research award for the best Master and PhD thesis that aims to strengthen Polish-German cultural exchange and cooperation.
The award is being granted every year since 2008 in few states and since 2012 in all German states. There are four regional competitions organised jointly by the Centre for Historical Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Berlin, the Polish Embassy and the Polish Consulates in Hamburg, Cologne and Munich. Successful thesis will be selected by the Jury composed of professors from both Polish and German universities as well as consuls representing both countries.
All submitted thesis should concern the field of humanities and social sciences in the context of history, culture and Polish- German relations. Participating Universities from Germany are the ones in Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. The best dissertations will be granted with the award of 2000 EUR (for PhD thesis) and 1000 EUR (for Master thesis). The deadline to submit applications is 16 September 2014. The official announcement on competition results and awards ceremony will be held in December.
