Reparation of Cultural Property: Dialogue Meeting between Cameroon and Germany

May 15th, 2024The meeting on April 25, 2024, between Ambassador Ndocki and his German guests is part of the follow-up and continuation of exchanges initiated during the first dialogue between Germany and Cameroon, aimed at successfully conducting discussions on issues surrounding Cameroonian cultural heritage from the colonial context stored in German museums.
The Ambassador of Cameroon in Berlin, His Excellency Mr. Victor NDOCKI, granted an audience this Thursday, April 25, 2024, to Professor Ines De Castro, director of the Linden Museum in Stuttgart, and Mr. Stefan Rössel, director of external culture at the Federal Foreign Office.
This visit followed the dialogue meeting held at the Linden Museum in Stuttgart between January 14 and 16 of this year, which was attended by, in addition to the Ambassador of Cameroon, a strong delegation from the "Interministerial Committee for the Repatriation of Cultural Property Illegally Exported Abroad," directors of German museums, and researchers.
