Reception at South the African Embassy in Berlin Highlights Education and Economic Cooperation

On Wednesday the 11th of September, the DIHK Foreign Trade Committee, in partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa, hosted a reception at the South African Embassy in Berlin. His Excellency Stone Sizani, South African Ambassador to Germany, delivered a welcoming speech that emphasized the critical role of education in fostering international cooperation and development.

Following the Ambassador’s address, Dr. Peter Kulitz, Chairman of the DIHK Foreign Trade Committee, and Mr. Volker Treier, Chief Executive of Foreign Trade and Member of the DIHK Executive Board, also spoke, highlighting the importance of strengthening trade relations between Germany and South Africa. Their remarks underscored the potential for enhanced collaboration in various sectors, particularly education and vocational training.

The reception featured a culinary showcase of authentic South African cuisine prepared by Ms. Charleen Simshäuser of Cape Curry Pot. Additionally, Mr. Christoph Puff of uniWines presented a selection of exclusive South African wines, offering attendees a taste of the country’s rich cultural heritage. The event served as an opportunity to deepen ties between the two nations while celebrating South Africa's contributions to global trade and culture.
